Things happen we cannot control

As you will notice 4/17 was the last time I blogged. On 4/23 my wife was rushed to the ER and subsequently had to have her mitral valve replaced. She is still in recovery and I am still driving her around to the dr follow-ups and all that goes with being under a dr's care.

I notice that my last blog was the VT massacre. Unbelieveable to me that it only seems like a few days yet it has been 6 weeks.

This is a blog dedicated to good thoughts and being positive and giving people hope for the future and achieving the extraordinary in their lives yet it seems our lives continue to be bombarded with bad news. Just a few days ago a young depressed mother of 4 hanged three of her children and herself in a Ft Worth Texas area home. We should wonder if there is not something collectively all of can do and surely individually each of us can do something in this world to bring some light into the world of darkness that seems to hang over many.

On a happy side, many young people are graduating from high school and college and starting a new life. Let's give each of them support as they venture into the unknown world of "real" life.

Other good news for those of us who live in San Antonio. The Spurs won the western conf title last night and will play either Detroit or Cleveland beginning 6/7 for the NBA championship. Life is about having fun and enjoying things and each other as well as the serious part of life. So GO SPURS GO!

I also want to plug some new books I have coming out with my co-arthor Ron Palermo. Two are inprint and should arrive within a week. One "250 Optimist Quotes for Achieving the Extraordinary" is now available but I am going to promote buy three for the price of two and I will throw in shipping. So look for that soon on my we site.

Remember Jun 6 D-Day is coming up. A very important and historical part of the world's history. We owe so much to so many that faced adversity in WWII. We salute the "Greatest Generation". I do not know what my generation will be know for but for all those WWII veterans and the families of those during that time I can say for me that the term " The Greatest Generation" fits them and their character.
