Operation Shoe Box

I had as my talk show guest today Mary Harper who is the founder of OSB. She founded this project to assist in making life a little easier for the troops all over the world, not just in Operation Iraqi Freedom. How ever it should be noted that she has had 4 sons, a dau and a son in law deployed in the Army all in Iraq. This past week she surpassed 200,000 in the number of care packets she and her 500 volunteers in 5 states have sent to tropps overseas.

If you wish to help you may go to www.operationshoebox.com and check out the project. Kitty and I sent a check today because we support our troops world-wide because they serve and defend us daily. An address to send a check is on the web site and if you wish to use pay pal you can click on the site for it also.

I have been lacking in my blog site duties. Last week I was in Washington DC talking with my personal congressman about issues I believe in and to see his ideas. Therefore I did not blog. But I plan to blog some positive things each day or so from this point forward.

Next Weds at noon check out my talk show at www.7thwavenetwork.com or go to my web site at www.optimisticday.com and click on direct from there. My guest will be the Pastor of the Travis Park United Methodist Church of San Antonio.Co- Pastor Rev Karen Vannoy will discuss the church's outreach program to the homeless and less fortunate that touches 50,000 lives per year. It is called the Corazon Ministries and it is about the love from the heart. February 14, Valentine's Day is going to be more than just about love between sweethearts on this special day.

I am always looking for optimistic and positive programs and people to feature in my newsletter and talk show. I encourage you to let me know who in your community I can feature.

A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Optimistic Day is in the middle of writing and publishing a book that will come out by April 30. I will let you know of course the exact day but looking forward to making the official announcement of publication in a couple of months.

Have An Optimistic Day and remember anyone can be ordinary, but to be extraordinary, add a little EXTRA.
