Amanda Gore says "Every day find somethingfor which to be gratful

My internet talk show guest last week (James Lloyd) (www.9screens.com to learn more about James) said if he had one word to share with everyone it would be the word gratitude. This week I received a newsletter from Amanda Gore, noted inspirational speaker and she said that she is writing a book in 2007 on the subject "JOY" but says it is actually turning out to be a book on gratitude. You can go to www.amandagore.com to learn more about her.

Each one says that each day we should wake up and think of something for which we can be grateful for in life. So, why not start. You can listen to my conversation with James by going to www.optimisticday.com and clicking on where it says to listen to Ron's show.

I encourage you to also listen to my Jan 3rd guest also. Tom Schibusch has Cerebral Palsy, was born 3 1/2 months premature and weighted 1 lb and 2 ozs at birth. Yet Tom has made a difference in so many lives in his 44 years. Listen to Tom and then go to bed tonight thinking about how much you have to be grateful for in life. And, then wake up and rekindle that spirit.

I refer to my guests since since they are real and have great stories to share with you. I am going to have another year on the internet talk show "Achieving the Extraordinary" and need a special guest each week to interview so if you have a recommendation send me the information at ron@optimisticday.com.

Also, many of you think the way I do about being positive and optimistic and perhaps want to share that with others but cannot for whatever reason. And many of you have told me that they life the newsletter, talk show and the blog. To all of you out there I appreciate the thoughts and good wishes. I also want to provide you a way to assist Kitty and me in our endeavor. We do fund this ourselves and we keep expanding. We are interested in obtaining sponsors for the newsletter and the talk show. If you would like to participate as a sponsor (we are going to start with the newsletter first) please contact me. The newsletter sponsorship would provide a link to your business, have a sponsor tag on our site and the newsletter and perhpas some other goodies we could come up with. If interested please contact me.

Of course sponsoring the internet talk show is a little more and would take producing commercials etc but if you have an interest in that also we can talk.

Continue to have a great beginning to 2007 and enjoy life and be grateful each day for your blessing of life and thankful for those family and friends around you.

A do over each day

Today is Weds Jan 3 and on a personal note I came to San Antonio Texas for the first time 44 years ago today. I also took my first flight ever 44 years ago today at age 18. Kitty and I moved back to SA (from Plano Tx) on a permanent basis and opened an insurance office this week 18 years ago. Things have changed of course and each day is an exciting one. Even the ones where you want a do over.

Golfers call them mulligans, but the short version for everyone is "DO OVER".

Life allows us the opportunity for a "do over". When we wake up each day we have an opportunity to start fresh. New ideas, new enthusiasm, new excitement. Common sense should tell us that if we have major problems to do over each day then something needs a big adjustment. But on a normal day to day routine we should welcome the opportunity to rethink and renew ourselves each day.

Kitty says each and every day when I ask her how she is doing "I am doing great and I am thankful each day when I wake up that God has given me another day." And, she says this even when things are not really great with her healthwise or otherwise. But she views each day as a new day to be thankful.

Many celebrate the New Years with lots of resolutions and parties and a feel good atmosphere that things will be better for them and then in a week to ten days they are back in the same rut. I approach it from the point of view that every day is a new day and I have my long range vision and short and long term objectives and goals in life and know what I want to do each day to accomplish what I have set out to do. And, if adjustments need to be made I make them at the time I realize what I need to do. A once a year adjustment with false and short term resolutions is not what I think one needs to do.

So wake up each and every morning as if it were the 1st of January and look at your written vision and plan of action and keep toward that goal. But remember that life is not perfect and we are not perfect but life gives us a new day each do for a "do over". Take advantage of this opportunity and be thankful that each day God has given you another chance.
